Community Meals - Every Thursday
Each Thursday evening at 5:30, Christ Lutheran Church is a host site for free Community Meals. Each week Lancaster churches take turns sponsoring a nutritious meal for the community. This is a ministry of the Lancaster County Council of Churches. On Monday through Friday, three meals a day are served at different churches in the city, and two meals are served on Saturday and Sunday. That's every single week - what an amazing ministry!
This is a tangible ministry of outreach to our community, and an important way in which Christ Lutheran is a blessing to its community. People who come to the meal are very grateful and are always expressing their thanks that our church opens its doors and is committed to feeding the community.
This ministry here would not be possible without our community meal volunteers (especially Amy Reis and Audrey Weiler) and the different church and business groups who come in to serve. We at Christ Lutheran take a turn to serve every other month on the third Thursday. You are always welcome to stop by on a Thursday and lend a hand. Information about our next time to serve and how you can help is available on the church bulletin board. Help is always needed with food or monetary donations, setting up, preparing food, serving, and cleaning up.
If your congregation is interested in participating in the Community Meal events, please contact Audrey Weiler through the church office at 717-299-5639 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
